Maxine Frank Singer Hall at Swarthmore College, designed by Ballinger, was featured in the November 2024 issue of US Glass. The article, “Above and Beyond: Skylights and Overhead Glazing,” highlights exemplary use of overhead glazing.
Singer Hall, a 160,000 SF building housing Swarthmore’s psychology, biology, and engineering departments, is bisected by a three-story, sky-lit atrium. Labs and offices adjacent to the atrium receive borrowed light, filtered by skylight glazing units specifically designed for daylight optimization and solar heat control.
