The University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Engineering officially broke ground on Kiewit Hall, a 181,500 GSF new engineering building and the largest academic facilities project in the 152-year history of the University. Ballinger, along with partner architect Clark & Enerson, designed the building to be a world-class hub of undergraduate engineering education. In his remarks at the ceremony, Ballinger senior principal Craig S. Spangler, AIA expressed his enthusiasm for the project. “We’re extraordinarily honored to be selected to join the college in designing this very important initiative for the University of Nebraska,” he said. Scheduled to open in 2023, the building will house active-learning classrooms, flexible teaching labs and innovative maker spaces
